According to Webster's dictionary, a pun is when a word is cleverly used to suggest multiple meanings or sound like another word. Get ready to flex your comedic muscles and unleash the laughter!

What You'll Need:

To embark on your quip-filled journey, gather the essentials:

  • Pencil and paper for each player to jot down their hilarious quips.
  • An adjustable timer to add a thrilling element of race against time. Your trusty smartphone can handle the job!

How To Play!

  1. Let the laughter begin! The dealer draws a card and announces the topic for Level 1 with a flourish.
  2. Start the timer for a wild and witty 90 seconds. During this time, players must come up with a funny or clever quip related to the topic. Time is of the essence, so think fast!
  3. Once the timer runs out, it’s showtime! The dealer selects the first player to share their quip, and the hilarity circulates clockwise. Remember, the dealer can’t pick the same player twice in a row—let everyone shine!
  4. But wait, there’s more! If a player finds themselves temporarily quip-less, they can use their secret weapon: the mighty “Re-Quip!” This grants them another shot at quip greatness before the next round kicks in. But use it wisely! You only get one per level and three per game.

Scoring

  1. It’s time to channel your inner critic and score each other’s quips! Using the suggested Tally Sheet (check out the example), rate the responses on a scale of 1 to 5. Go wild with your judgments, but remember, you can’t score your own quips—fair play, folks!
  2. The quip-tastic action continues for five rounds in each of the three levels. Level 1 gives you a generous 90 seconds, Level 2 amps up the challenge with 60 seconds, and Level 3 puts your quick wit to the test with a thrilling 30 seconds.
